The summer school is full-time and involves approximately 23 hours of class attendance and 52 hours of individual study. After completing the final exam, on Saturday 11 July, students will get 3 ECTS.

Who can apply
The program targets PhD and post-doc students. In special cases, master’s and bachelor’s students may also be eligible. A maximum of 60 participants will be admitted.

Schedule

Students will have two classes in the morning and one or two in the afternoon. On Monday, June 6, we’ll kick things off with a warm-up event and dinner by the seaside in Marina di Pisa — the perfect way to get to know everyone! The school wraps up at 1 p.m. with the final exam and a group discussion. After that, we’ll celebrate with lunch together!

EARLY BIRD APPLICATION
28 February 2026: DEADLINE for those interested in financial support
10 March 2026: notification of admission. A form for asking financial support will be sent to the admitted applicants
27 March 2026: notification of financial support

Standard APPLICATION
31 March 2026: application deadline
10 April 2026: notification of admission to those who applied in March

PAYMENT
01 April 2026: admitted student can pay the tuition fees and book the accommodation. Notice: please do not pay before 01 April!
21 April 2026: DEADLINE for the tuition fee payment. After payment, accepted applicants will become registered students.

ACCOMODATION
05 May 2026: DEADLINE for registered students for sending a booking request to “Le Benedettine Residence”

COSTS
The registration fees are €500, covering tuition costs, lunches, and coffee breaks. Meals will be vegetarian (please look here for the reasons of this choice).
All other expenses are the responsibility of the participants and will be paid by them.

REFUND POLICY and cancellation fee
By 30 May 2026 participants may withdraw without providing any reasons.
From 1 to 30 June 2026 cancellations will be possible only in cases of serious and certified problems (e.g. medical issues). In all other cases, no reimbursement is due.
From 1 July 2026 (included) fees are non-refundable.

A 30 euro cancellation fee will always be applied to the reimbursement of registered students who request to cancel their registration.

ACCOMMODATION
Participants are responsible for finding and booking their accommodation. Some rooms will be available at the “Benedettine Residence” at rather cheap rates. We will provide registered participants with instructions on how to make a booking.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
A very limited number of scholarships, in the form of fee discounts, are available. To ensure fair and equitable distribution, applicants in need of financial support can apply by filling out a form that will be sent to them upon admission BEFORE paying the fee.
